Ancient Egyptian Battles
The Ancient Egyptian army had many important victories because of their amazing soldiers. One major battle is the Battle of Meggido. This combat had 20,000 men for the Egyptians vs. 15,000 Syrians. The Egyptians were led by Pharaoh Tuthmosis. They ended up winning the important fight while capturing more than 200 chariots with 2,000 horses. The Egyptians used these chariots and horses to their advantage in the battles to come.
The Battle of Kadesh
The Battle of Kadesh was a legendary battle for the Egyptians. It is arguably the greatest battle ever for Egypt. The Battle of Kadesh occurred in Kadesh, Syria. The Egyptians were led by Ramses II. During the battle, the Ra division that was heading south was ambushed by Hittie chariots. This made them retreat north. When the East regiment saved the Egyptian camps by raids, they destroyed part of the Hitties’ army at the same time. After surrounding them, the Ptah division came which made the Hitties surrender to the Egyptians. This victory was a great comeback for Egypt.
