Egyptian Pharaohs And Kings
The Kings led the troops into battle and were always the most important Egyptian on the battlefield. They also were the most responsible for a military campaign, as minister of war. One King that helped the Egyptians is Seqenenre Tao II. Seqenenre Tao II was a Pharaoh in Egypt and was nicknamed “The Brave”. He launched the very first attack against the Hyskos in 1558. Tao died in the battle, but his sons would take over once he died.
Ramses II
Ramses II was luckily, for the Egyptians, in one of the most important battles of their time. Ramses was the leader for the Egyptians in the Battle of Kadesh (can be spelled with a Q or a K) in Syria. Ramses II led several attacks into the Hittie ranks killing some of their key leaders. After trying six times without succeeding, a division for the Egyptians called the Ptah finally came from the South. Once the Hitties saw the Ptah division they were forced to surrender. This was a huge victory for the Egyptians. The Egyptians decided to sign a peace treaty and not take the city because they were concerned the people might start a rebellion and overtake them.
