Ancient Egyptian Weapons
The Egyptian military used many different types of weapons at the point of attack. The Egyptians were very skilled at determining which weapons to use for each battle. Some of these helpful tools were the chariots, axes, bow and arrows, javelins, swords, Khopeshes, shields, maces, pears, slings, and throwing sticks. The axe was a really effective weapon. There were battle axes, ceremonial axes, and silver shafted axes. Axes also were used all over the Middle East by other armies.
The Head Smashing Mace
Like the axe, the mace was a significant weapon when used. The mace was a very powerful weapon at the Ancient Egyptians’ time. It was a weapon which wasn’t sharp, but deadly. When using a mace, soldiers aimed for only the enemies head. If their opponent wasn’t wearing a helmet, their skull would get crushed. But if they were, it would only cause head pains, but not death. This is why the mace was not used as much as time passed on.
